Jesse Martin and Kevin Everett, same story different sport When I first heard that Jesse Martin was hurt I wondered what happened.   I saw it in the Denver Post the next morning and it was the first time that I had heard of the hit that almost left him paralyzed.   When I read the story it remindedof Kevin Everett, the football player from the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He was running down the field against the Denver Broncos, left his feet for a hit, leading with his head and went helmet first into the Broncos kick returner.   Everett did not move.
