What could be better than a Chris Rock comedy to get your mind off your problems and transport you far away from Penrose Library?

Rock's latest film, "I Think I Love My Wife," seemed to offer a good time with a lot of great laughs.

After all, Rock is famous for inimitable facial expressions, coupled with his comedic timing.

How could a film that he directed be anything but hilarious?

My expectations proved to a little bit too high.

The film is based on the French film "Chloe In The Afternoon," which is about a seemingly happily married Parisian couple although the husband secretly daydreams about other women.

In his version, Rock applies his own raw comedy to toy with the idea of fidelity and marriage as practiced in America.

"I Think I Love My Wife" stars Rock as the daydreaming husband and Brenda (played by Gina Torres) as the wife.

It soon becomes abundantly clear that the husband craves extra-martial sex.

Rock doesn't understand why his wife doesn't feel threatened by his working in the city where he sees millions of beautiful women.

He looks, but doesn't touch until he runs into an old acquaintance, Nikki Tru, (played by Kerry Washington) who is an extremely sexy single woman.

Rock starts to question his fidelity.

The movie does have some laugh-out-loud funny moments.

Yet, Rock, who clearly has the potential to make any storyline funny, does not reach his potential this time.

Fans of Rock's older material will not be pleased.

Overall, the film fails to deliver.
